CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Capital University men's tennis team commenced the spring portion of their schedule today, playing two matches on the campus of Wabash University. First, Capital took on the hosts Wabash where they fell 9-0, before they battled Manchester University where they fell 5-4.

Capital vs. Wabash
The Comets did battle with the hosts Wabash University in the first of their two matches today, falling 9-0. The doubles tandem of
Jesse Stevens and
Spencer Surles fell 8-4 at No. 1, while
Jackson Havel and
Nicholas Wines lost 8-1 at No. 2.
In singles action, Surles played hard at No. 1 fall 6-4, 6-0. Stevens lost No. 2, 6-2, 6-1. Havel drooped No. 3 via identical sets of 6-0. Wines lose No. 4 via a 6-2, 6-2 scoreline.
Alex Rowley rounded it out with a 6-1, 6-1 loss at No. 5.
Capital vs. Manchester
Capital played well vs. Manchester with the doubles pairing of Stevens and Surles winning 8-5 at No. 1. In second doubles, Havel and Wines narrowly fell via an identical score of 8-5.
In singles play, Surles won his No. 1 spot comfortably, 6-0, 6-1. Stevens and Havel also both won comfortably at No. 2 and No. 3. Stevens won 6-1, 6-1 and Havel won via a clean sweep. Rowley battled at No. 4 singles, but fell 6-4, 6-3. Wines rounded it out with a 6-1, 6-0 loss at No. 5.
