ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Capital University women's soccer team (6-8-4, 4-2-3 OAC) was on the road for their regular season finale on Saturday, visiting Mount Union (5-11-2, 1-6-2 OAC). Both teams would wind up scoreless after the 90 minutes, the match ending in a 0-0 draw.
The Purple and White put forth plenty of chances throughout the game, but none were good enough to find the back of the net. All-in-all CU sent forth 16 shots with nine of them finding their mark. On the other end, the Purple Raiders took nine attempts, three being on target.
Leading the offensive was
Avery Hart who took five shots, all on goal.
Grace Estes also had five attempts, three of which were online.
Bella Leonetti accounted for the only other shot on goal, one of her two total attempts.
Kasey Duke took two shots and
Lizzie Elliott and
Catherine Zugaro also got one off, all of which were offline.
On the defensive end, the back line anchored by
Abby English,
Taylor Duff,
Kendra Kovacs and
Taylor Marcum came away with their fifth defensive shutout of the season.
Liv Alford (4-7-4) took care of goalkeeping duties, making three saves during the 90 minutes.

Even with the tie, the Comets have officially locked up the three-seed in the upcoming OAC Women's Soccer Tournament and will host six-seed Wilmington on Tuesday night. A start time for that game at Bernlohr Stadium is still to be determined.
