COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team (9-15, 1-6 OAC) faced off against their fiercest foes Otterbein (16-8, 5-2 OAC) on Saturday afternoon in a match that would be decided in three sets, with the Cardinals coming away with the victory by scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-15.
Overall, Cap recorded 28 kills on a .101 hitting percentage with 28 assists as well as 39 digs, seven blocks, and five aces for a total of 40.0 points.
Larissa Smith and
Simone Daniel led the attack with seven kills each, followed by
Sophia Sobota with five.
Emily Yanczura and
Bryn Whitmer would be the main setters on the day, coming away with 15 and 10 assists respectively.
At the service line
Olivia Spillers dropped in two aces, joined by
Abby Brunner,
Samaree Perkins, and Yanczura all with one apiece.
On the defensive front, Smith and Daniel each made four blocks, with Perkins picking up two as well.
Finally, the dig leaders included Spillers and Brunner each with 10 and Yanczura with five.
SENIOR DAY
The highlight of the day was a special pregame ceremony celebrating the achievements of the four Capital seniors that will be wrapping up their careers with the Comets at season's end:

Larissa Smith, and
Delaney Conger.
