COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University men's soccer team (3-6-3, 2-1-0 OAC) took the trip up north to John Carroll (8-3-2, 2-1-0 OAC) on Saturday night. Despite the Comets having very limited chances on offense, Cap was able to hang with the Blue Streaks for the majority of the game, coming just one goal short in the end, 2-1.
John Carroll scored first, grabbing the only goal of the first half in the 32nd minute. It was Patrick Koenig on the goal, with Izac Coleman on the assist.
The Purple and White would pull back even in the 51st minute after a shot from
Tony Epstein slammed off the post and found the foot of freshman
Jackson Terry who deposited it into the fairly empty net. It was Terry's second goal of the season, with the assist going to Epstein, his second.
JCU's Dylan Halm then scored what would be the deciding goal in the 70th minute with an assist from Nick Mikulec, bringing the game to its final scoreline of 2-1.
