OBERLIN, Ohio – The Capital University men's soccer team (5-1-0) was on the road at Oberlin (1-3-2) on Wednesday night. The Comets relied on two goals from
Jarrett Puckett to pull past the Yeomen 2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Capital's first goal came in the 23rd minute following a corner kick. The corner opportunity bounced around the box for a bit before falling to the feet of Puckett just inside the 18-yard line. The senior defender would gather himself before sending the ball into the lower left hand corner of the goal to give the Comets the lead, 1-0.
It would be about 40 minutes before CU struck again with Puckett netting yet another in the 69th minute.
Jack Kossoudji would play the set-up man this time around, dropping a beautiful backheel pass to Puckett who hammered it home from just outside the goal box, giving the Purple and White a 2-0 advantage until the final whistle.
