Box Score 2 BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team put together a very strong evening of volleyball, edging the University of Olivet, 3-2 in the first match of a doubleheader before rolling past the host school, Bluffton University, 3-1 in the night cap.
Capital, who are in the midst of a nine-game road trip, improved to 5-6 with the two wins.
GAME ONE: Capital def. Olivet, 3-2

GAME TWO: Capital def. Bluffton, 3-1
The Comets made it a clean sweep on the day, downing the hosts Bluffton by a score of 3-1. Capital won via scores of 25-20, 25-16, 21-25 and 25-11.
Cap put together one of their better offensive outings of the season, hitting at an overall percentage of .336 for the game, thanks to 49 kills on 110 swings and just 12 errors in the game.
Three Comets got in double digits in kills while all hitting .300 or better.
Lindsay Rich landed 12 kills on a .400 clip,
Alissa Holler hit 12 kills on a .310 mark and
Larissa Smith dropped 11 kills while hitting .444.
Samaree Perkins also attacked efficiently, hitting .429 in the game while landing four kills.
Simone Daniel landed a solid seven kills as well.
Bryn Whitmer had a tremendous game facilitating the offense, setting up 41 assists. She also added two kills, two aces and seven digs.
Abby Brunner picked up 16 digs in the back row, followed by nine from
Olivia Spillers.
Up at the net, Daniel had a monster performance, totaling five blocks, three of which were solo. Perkins was in on two blocks, while Rich and Holler were each in on a block assist.
UP NEXT
Capital will travel to Oberlin on Tuesday evening for a 7 p.m. contest. The Comets will then follow that trip up with an overnighter to Decatur, Illinois where they will play three teams at Millikin's tournament.
