COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University men's tennis team took on Ohio Northern at Wolfe Park on Saturday, dropping the match to the Polar Bears 9-0. The Comets are now 7-8 on the season, 1-4 in the conference.
First and second doubles did not go Capital's way with the duo of
Thomas Secrist and
Colin Welch taking an 8-3 loss, and the duo of
Spencer Surles and
Brady Wink winding up on the wrong end of an 8-0 result. The Comets had a chance to come away with a point in third doubles but
Aaron Askew and
Jesse Stevens lost in a tiebreak 8-7 (7-3).
The singles matches had a similar theme with the Comets on the wrong end of all six results:
Thomas Secrist (6-1, 6-3),
Spencer Surles (6-0, 6-1),
Colin Welch (6-1, 6-0),
Jesse Stevens (6-1, 6-3),
Jackson Havel (6-0, 6-0),
Brady Wink (6-3, 7-5).
