COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team continued their conference season on Saturday night, playing host to John Carroll University at Scarborough Tennis Club. The Blue Streaks would end up taking this one from the Comets by a score of 7-2.
Capital's dual match record is now 6-5 and 1-2 in the OAC.
DOUBLES
The Comets got the ball rolling early as the third doubles match was the first to conclude, leaving Capital with an early 1-0 lead.
Amy Wright-Lovell and
Jenny Rollins were the pair to pull out an 8-2 win over their opponents. However, the first and second doubles matches that came to a close shortly after went in the opposite direction with
Anna Fletcher and
Nicole Flock falling 1-8, followed by
Kylee Fliter and
Rachel Smith at 2-8.
SINGLES
Capital was able to get one back in the singles matches after
Nicole Flock defeated her opponent 6-4, 6-2, but unfortunately dropped the five remaining matches. All-in-all, each of the Comets put up a good fight and scored quite a few points along the way. It just wasn't enough. In order of finish, the remaining singles scores went as such:
Kylee Fliter (0-6, 0-6),
Rachel Smith (4-6, 3-6),
Jenny Rollins (4-6, 2-6),
Ashlyn Edwards (1-6, 0-6),
Anna Fletcher (2-6, 3-6).
