WOOSTER, Ohio -- Playing their second match in two days, the Capital University men's tennis team fell to the College of Wooster today by a final score of 9-0.
The Comets are now 5-2 on the season, which includes a 4-0 record from the fall portion of the season.
In doubles action, the top match was contested by
Spencer Surles and
Brady Wink against Wooster's Gabriel Escobar and Patrick Johnson. There, the Scots duo defeated the Comet duo 8-4. At second doubles,
Thomas Secrist and
Alex Rowley fell to Wooster's Shivam Dewan and Namit Misra 8-1. Rounding out the doubles action were
Aaron Askew and
Jesse Stevens falling to Alex Drewes and Walker Wood via an 8-1 scoreline.
On the singles side of the competition, Wooster took all six available points in consecutive sets.
Spencer Surles (6-0, 6-1) fell to Alex Drewes,
Thomas Secrist (6-2, 6-1) dropped to Shivam Dewan,
Jesse Stevens (6-0, 6-3) lost to Patrick Johnson,
Jackson Havel (6-0, 6-1) fell to Namit Misra,
Brady Wink (6-2, 6-1) lost to Connor Streeter, and
Aaron Askew (6-3, 6-1) fell to Alex Anikeeff.
The Comets will be back on the court this coming Friday, March 3rd as they host Berea College in Lexington, Ohio at the Lakewood Raquet Club.
