Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Downed 1-0 at Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio – The Capital University men's soccer team traveled to Marietta College where they fell 1-0 after conceding the only goal of the game in the 83rd minute of play.

The loss pegs Capital back to 7-6-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the OAC. Marietta moves to 5-9-1 and 3-3 in the conference.

The Comets' best chance of the first half to break the deadlock came in the 28th minute of play as Jack Kossoudji's shot rattled the left post, narrowly missing out on the first goal of the game.
Despite seeing six shots come his way, Capital goalie Ethan Ogden was not called to make a save in the first half of action.

Out of the halftime intermission, Marietta came out of the gates the aggressor and their pressure eventually paid off in the 83rd minute as Taj Haidar lashed a left-footed shot past Ogden in the goal, making the score 1-0 in favor of the Pioneers.

With Marietta taking 16 shots in the game and Capital shooting nine times, the teams managed to shoot on target just three total times. Devon Hess's on-target shot for the Comets was saved and Ethan Ogden made just one save, while conceding the one goal.
