WESTERVILLE, Ohio – On Sunday afternoon, the Capital University women's tennis team was defeated by Otterbein University via a 9-0 scoreline.
There were many quality performances to be had, but ultimately, the Cardinals proved to be too much for the Comets.
The first doubles pairing of
Kelli Wright-Lovell and
Anna Fletcher fell 8-2. At second doubles,
Josie Nichols and
Amy Wright-Lovell fell 8-3. In #3 doubles,
Kylee Fliter and
Abigail Hornacek fell 8-2.
All six singles matches went the way of Otterbein in consecutive sets. In order from first singles to sixth singles,
Kelli Wright-Lovell fell 6-0, 6-0,
Anna Fletcher fell 6-1, 6-0,
Amy Wright-Lovell lost 6-1, 6-0,
Josie Nichols fell 6-4, 6-1,
Hayley Singleton was upended 6-0, 6-1, and
Karen Kanke lost 6-2, 6-0.
Capital will be back on the courts on Wednesday, April 13th at Scarborough Tennis Club to take on NAIA opponent Pikeville.
