NEW ORLEANS, La. – Capital University's men's track and field saw one of their own named All-Great Lakes Region by the USTFCCCA on Tuesday of this week as
Andy Fullmer earned the distinction in the indoor heptathlon.
Fullmer, who is a sophomore athletically, competed in the heptathlon three times this season and broke the school record during his second attempt at the University of Findlay's Alumni Classic on January 28-29 of this year.
In that meet, Fullmer registered a total score of 4,467 points, setting the new best in the event for Capital history by more than 1200 points over the second best individual.
In that same competition, Fullmer's new personal best in the long jump marked 6.50 meters, which was good enough to put him in a tie for seventh on the all-time long jump list at Capital. Additionally, at the Findlay meet, Andy's 60 meter hurdle time clocked 8.97 seconds, which put him in a tie for fifth all-time in that event as well.
Fullmer will look to keep the outdoor season going on a high-note as he will begin competition along with the rest of his teammates tomorrow and Saturday at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge.
