BEREA, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team made their final trip of the year on Saturday, visiting the campus of Baldwin Wallace University. The Comets managed a consistent effort overall but were ultimately overmatched by the Yellow Jackets, dropping the match 0-3 (18-25, 18-25, 16-25).
The Purple and White end the season with a 8-18 overall record and 0-9 in the OAC.
BW moves to 13-11 on the year and 4-5 within the conference.
Despite getting on the board early in the first set and leading multiple times, Baldwin Wallace just had more in the tank and put together multiple-point runs to get on top towards the end and take the set 25-18. The story was very similar in the second set as the Comets went on an eight-point run in the early going of the set but another late run gave BW enough to win the set with an identical score to the first. The third set was a little more evenly split with the Yellow Jackets pulling ahead in the later half of the set to take it 25-16, and the game 3-0.
