ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Capital University men's basketball team faced off with Mount Union on Friday night, but were outmatched by the Purple Raiders, dropping the game 45-72.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Capital was able to hold their own for the first ten minutes, staying within a score or two of Mount Union. However, a well-timed 13-0 run in the latter part of the first half gave the Purple Raiders a sizable lead heading into the break. Stunted by poor shooting in the second half, Capital fell further behind. This, added to a strong performance from behind the arch and at the line by Mount Union, led to Capital ending up on the short end of the scoreboard, 45-72.
A positive coming from the loss was the extended playing time received by Capital's reserve group. Coach Goodwin was able to give these guys some valuable minutes and get them the experience needed to further develop at the college level.
Mo Fofana, a sophomore guard out of Franklin Heights, Ohio, made his first collegiate appearance, dropping in his first four career points, pulling down two boards, and collecting one takeaway. Junior forward
Alex Wyatt also saw the floor, making his third appearance for Capital since transferring from Heidelberg. He pulled down two rebounds and made one steal.
