Women’s Soccer Slips Up in Michigan

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Capital University women's soccer was held scoreless in a 1-0 loss on the road at the ever-tough Hope College on Saturday afternoon.
The result pushes Capital's record back to 0-6-1, while Hope improves to 5-2.

Hope's decisive goal came just two minutes after halftime as Madison Holloway got on the end of a pass from Margaret Owsiany and beat Lauren White for the tally.

Despite conceding the goal, White and the defensive grouping held off 21 Hope shots to keep the team in the game. White ended the game with 10 saves.

Three Capital attackers registered a shot on goal in the match as Avery Hart, Grace Estes and Brooke Shutler all tested the Hope keeper, Parker Hutchinson. Further pressuring the Hop goal, both Francesca Longano and Catherin Zugaro registered shot attempts that drifted off-target.

Capital returns back home to Bernlohr Stadium to host their final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday, September 28th. The team will host Wittenberg University for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
