BEREA, Ohio –  The Capital University softball team dropped both parts of their Saturday afternoon doubleheader on the road at Baldwin Wallace University by final scores of 2-0 and 4-3.

The results set Capital back to a 10-20 record while the Yellow Jackets jumped up to 21-11 mark.

In game two, six Crusader batters collected one hit each. Elizabeth Stonerock was responsible for the team's lone RBI in game two.

GAME ONE - BW wins 2-0 (Box Score)
The story of game one falls solely on the outstanding pitching efforts of Baldwin Wallace starter Nikki Camarati. Camarati hurled a no-hitter and struck out 19 Crusader batters on her way to a seven inning domination. Just two Capital batters -- Lexi Leggett and Alysa Durbin -- reached base via the walk.

Brianna Shearer tossed six innings for the Crusaders and picked up the loss. She now stands at 7-8 on the year. Conceding just five hits and two runs (one earned), Shearer struckout six and walked two in her impressive start as well.

Both runs came with Raegan Thompson at the plate. In the third, Thompson reached on an error that allowed Emily Mau to score. In the fifth, Thompson doubled to center, once again scoring Mau.

GAME TWO - BW wins 4-3 (Box Score)
The Yellow Jackets jumped out of the gates early with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Mau once again scored on an error and Bridie Bricker crossed home on a separate error.

The Crusaders got runs back on a BW error in the top of the fourth. Erica Ogden reached on an error by the right fielder that enabled baserunners Lauren Kachure and Isabelle Hysong to score. With Ogden advancing to third on the error, things were set up nicely for Elizabeth Stonerock. Stonerock put down a sacrifice bunt and reached base as Ogden beat out the play at home, putting Capital ahead 3-2 after the fourth inning.

The Yellow Jackets remained quiet until the sixth inning when they struck back behind heads up baserunning.  Ana LaGuardia and Alicia Saxton advanced on a wild pitch, with Saxton crossing home plate. Then, with LaGuardia on third, Lexy Coggins singled to bring home the eventual game winning run.

Katelyn Wilhelm was strapped with the game two loss pushing her record to 2-5 on the year. She allowed just two hits, two walks, and two runs despite striking out six hitters.

Hannah Welling started for BW earning the win after pitching six innings and allowing three runs on five hits and a walk.

UP NEXT -
Baldwin Wallace will venture to Clowson Field for a senior day doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.
