COLUMBUS, Ohio –  For the sixth time this season, the Capital University women's lacrosse team put 20 goals past an opponent as they blew past the Marietta College Pioneers by a final of 22-5 on Wednesday evening.

The win catapulted Capital to an 8-2 record, while Marietta slipped to a 5-6 mark.

With five games in hand, the 20 goal plateau has not been reached six times in one season since the 2018 spring slate.

As is becoming a mainstay, the Crusaders offense worked in unison, as eight players found the back of the net and six players picked up assists. Both Luci Kanowsky and Brooke Delara scored five goals and had two assists each. Kat Walton chipped in four goals and a helper, while Dana added a hat trick. Other goals came courtesy of Dylan Smith (2), Brianna Rampi, Skyla Caito, and Abigail Midnight. Alex Lowry contributed three assists on the evening.

Capital wasted just nine seconds before scoring the opening goal of the game. Lowry picked up the opening draw control and dished a pass to Stover who deposited her 21st goal of the season. Stover added the team's second on a goal just three minutes later.

By the 13th minute, Capital had built a 6-1 margin, clinching the result. After Alex Lowry picked up a yellow card, Capital proceeded to score two man-down goals via Luci Kanowsky and Dana Stover
The first half onslaught by the Crusaders ended on Brianna Rampi's tally as time expired in the half. Rampi received a pass from Dylan Smith and in one fluid motion swung her shot past the Marietta netminder, bringing the half time margin to 16-2.

In the second half, Capital eased up the pressure, adding another eight goals before the night's end. Marietta did muster three goals in the final half hour of play.

Marietta's goals were scored by Lindy Brobeck (2), Kayla Kearns, Megan McGriff, and Anna Callow.

In all, Capital out shot Marietta by a final of 34-19, held the draw control margin (15-11), and connected on 17 of their 19 clear attempts.

Bee Kuehn started in the Capital cage and collected 10 saves, while Maddie Leers and Lauren Redfern combined for seven saves in the Marietta goal.

The Crusaders will return to the field on Saturday April 10th home to cross-town rivals Otterbein University. The draw is set for a 1 p.m. start.
