Women’s Lacrosse Shares the Wealth in 20-1 Victory

COLUMBUS, Ohio –  The Saturday matinee showing of Capital University women's lacrosse featured a 20-1 romp of visiting Muskingum University. The win vaulted the Crusaders to 7-2 on the year, while the Muskies fell to 1-7. 

In all, Capital saw nine players get on the scoresheet, with Brianna Rampi, Kat Walton, and Luci Kanowsky all registering hat tricks. Brooke Delara, Alex Lowry, Haleigh McPhillips, Dana Stover, and Skyla Caito all chipped in two goals each, while Abigail Midnight accounted for the final tally of the game. 

Just 14 seconds into the game, Rampi started the scoring off a feed from Walton. The next five Crusader goals came in an eight minute span as Capital wrapped up the game after just 10:49 had elapsed in the first half. Kanowsky was credited with two goals and two assists in the brief Capital outburst. 

Capital kept a stronghold on the game heading to half time capped off with a tally by McPhillips with 16 seconds left in the half. 

Capital eased up in the second half, but still managed to blitz the Muskies for another eight goals. The scoring frenzy was finished off with Abigail Midnight's first collegiate goal with 46 seconds left in the contest. 

Muskingum's lone goal came with 23:41 left in the game as Paige Hannum finished a feed from Sara Woods. 

Capital not only shared the scoring, but they shared the ball as they totaled up 13 assists by seven different players. Walton and Kanowsky each paired their hat trick of goals with a hat trick of assists, while Delara and Lowry added two assists each. Rampi, Dylan Smith, and Kori Barrett all had one assist each. 

Bee Kuehn was quiet in goal making just three saves. In the Muskingum cage, Cailin Wise stopped 17 shots. 

Capital will return to the field on Wednesday, April 7th for a 7 p.m. contest at home vs. Marietta College.
