BEXLEY, Ohio –  The Capital University men's tennis team used a gorgeous Sunday afternoon to matchup against the University of Mount Union and honor its senior class at Wolfe Park. While the Capital senior class showed great success, the Purple Raiders defeated the Crusaders, 6-3.

Senior Graeme Green posted a flawless day beginning on the doubles side when he and freshman Ven Naik pulled down a win and Capital's second point on court one. The match against Tony Massucci and Justin Kelley required a tiebreaker to decide a winner, but the Crusader duo outlasted the opposition 8-7 (7-4) to take the point and give Cap a 2-1 lead going into the turn.

After a loss on court two doubles, freshman Aaron Askew and senior Nathan Hartzler picked up the tying point on court three, defeating Holden Schmid and Max Rosedale, 8-5.

Green continued to roll in the top-flight singles match, keeping Capital alive with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Tony Massucci. His win made the score 4-3 in favor of the Purple Raiders with two courts left to play.
Needing to take both remaining courts, Capital looked to Hartzler and Naik to turn the tide. However, their respective opponents held on for wins and instead clinch the match by a final score of 6-3.

Prior to the match the Cap men's tennis team honored both of its seniors, Graeme Green and Nathan Hartzler in a senior day ceremony, recognizing and thank them for their efforts over their careers and help in resurrecting the program.

The Crusaders (1-4) have one last regular season match at Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday, May 1. First service in Berea will be held at 1 p.m.
