WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to rival Otterbein University in Westerville on Saturday afternoon.
Capital traveled a small lineup to Otterbein but was unable to overcome the shortage. With an injury to
Julia Holt,
Karen Kanke was elevated to the top doubles team to pair with
Rachel Smith. The duo fell 8-0 to Erin Storrer and Rachelle Moss. The Wright-Lovell sisters teamed up on court two and lost in an 8-1 decision to Madi Mueller and Jordyn Traxler. Court three was defaulted to Otterbein.
Kelli Wright-Lovell made her debut as Cap's top option, but Erin Storrer proved too much for the freshman following a 6-0, 6-1 loss. Smith fell on court two (def. by Madi Mueller 6-0, 6-1) while court three belonged to Otterbein's Jordyn Traxler in a 6-2, 6-0 win over Cap's
Amy Wright-Lovell. Kanke rounded out the lineup but lost to Rachelle Moses, 6-0, 6-0.
Capital (1-2) will take to the road again next Saturday, April 17, in a match against John Carroll University in University Heights. First service is set for 4:30 p.m.
