COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's lacrosse (5-1) team continued to score as they have nearly all year, tallying 20 or more goals for the fourth time this season in a 22-10 victory over Baldwin Wallace. In the process, two milestones were met as graduate student Kat Walton scored her 200th career goal in the second half to become only the second player in program history to do so. Meanwhile junior Luci Kanowsky racked up eight goals on the afternoon to tie the single game program record.

ON THE ATTACK
  • Walton took a pass from junior Brooke Delara and buried it in the back of the net just over 90 seconds into the contest to give Capital the early advantage.
  • After a score from senior Dana Stover and answer from Baldwin Wallace, Kanowsky netted her first goal of the game to move the score to 3-1.
  • The Yellow Jackets kept it close for the first half but Kanowsky, who had four goals in the half, Stover and Delara kept up the offensive tempo to keep the Crusaders on top 10-8 by halftime.
  • The second half was all Purple and White as Baldwin Wallace just could not keep pace as Capital reeled off 11 straight goals.
  • Kanowsky opened the frame with a goal, closely followed by Walton to increase the advantage to four.
  • At 20:08 to play, Kat Walton scored her 200th career goal on a pass from Dylan Smith to keep building the Crusaders lead.
  • The Yellow Jackets scored their first goal of the second half with 7:22 to play but by that time the game was well out of hand at 21-9.
  • Each team would find the goal once more before the final horn, resulting in a 22-10 Capital triumph.

CAREER MILESTONES
  • Kat Walton scored three times on the afternoon to eclipse the 200 career goals mark.
  • The only other player to achieve the mark in program history is Kara Hines who finished her career with 228 goals.
  • Just a few days ago, Walton surpassed Hines for the program points record and added onto her total today with six points to get to 262 and counting for her career.
  • Kanowsky also put her name up alongside Hines, scoring eight goals for the contest to match the single game goals record held jointly by Hines and Korri Titus.
  • With eight goals and two assists, Kanowsky had herself a career game with 10 points overall.

KEY STATS
  • Kanowsky led the team with 10 points on eight goals and two assists.
  • Delara continues to be an assist machine, amassing six to go alongside three goals and total nine points on the afternoon.
  • Along with Walton's three goals, she also dished out three assists for the game.
  • Brianna Rampi and Stover each tallied three goals, with Stover converting a perfect three of three on free position shots.
  • The Crusaders were strong on the draw controls as well, with Stover collecting seven and Alex Lowry eight to help Capital to 18 total.
