Lake Harris Named to USILA Division III Team of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Men's Lacrosse faceoff specialist Lake Harris was named to the Division III Dynamic Team of the Week by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.

Harris, a junior in his first year as the Crusaders' primary faceoff specialist, earned the honor after posting a remarkable day on the X in Saturday's season-opening win over Wilmington College. The Lewis Center, Ohio native won 95.5 percent of faceoffs taken against the Quakers, coming away successful on 21-of-22 attempts. His efforts helped set up Capital for its record-setting offensive performance that led to 27 goals and 44 points, both single-game program records.

This is the first such honor for Harris and is the first Capital lacrosse player to be named to the Division III Team of the Week since 2018 (Brennan O'Callaghan). Harris was an All-OAC honorable mention selection as a freshman in 2019 after winning 64 percent (114-178) of his faceoffs while picking up 44 ground balls.

Harris and the Crusaders will take on Marietta College at Bernlohr Stadium this Saturday, March 6, with the opening faceoff taking place at 1 p.m.
