COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's lacrosse team bounced back from their first loss of the season last week, taking down Ohio Northern 21-9 on Wednesday night in Bernlohr Stadium. Graduate student Kat Walton added another record to her illustrious Capital career, scoring six goals and two assists in the matchup to surpass Kara Hines for the most points in Capital women's lacrosse history.

GETTING IT DONE
  • The Polar Bears were first on the board with a goal at 27:48 but Capital quickly answered with a Luci Kanowsky goal to even things back up at one.
  • Shortly after, Ohio Northern netted two more scores to take back the advantage at 3-1 with 23:35 to play.
  • The Crusaders offense just needed a little bit of time to warm up before going on an eight goal tear that spanned nearly 13-minutes. Walton started it off and scored three times in total during the run. Five different Crusaders found the net with Skyla Caito contributing two herself.
  • Capital then scored four more times before the half was up, two of which came at the hands of Walton, to bring the score to 13-5.
  • Ohio Northern again drew first blood out of the half but Dana Stover and Kanowsky scored back-to-back to increase the advantage to 15-6.
  • The Polar Bears started to mount some momentum and get back into the game with three unanswered goals but Capital would not stand for that.
  • To close out the game, the Purple and White scored six consecutive goals from five different players, including Walton with her sixth goal of the evening, to bring home a commanding 21-9 win.
