COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital women's track & field team placed third in the Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge hosted by Baldwin Wallace University. In the three-team meet, Otterbein took the top spot with 121 points, Baldwin Wallace second with 102 and Capital third with 37.

- Sophomore Alexa Poling scored the first victory of her young career, tossing a personal best 13.86-meters (45-5 ¾) in the weight throw to best her nearest competition by almost two full meters. She followed that up with a second place finish in the shot put, heaving the rock 10.39-meters (34 1 ¼).
- Sophomore Bella McCarty competed in the pole vault, coming up just shy of a personal record at 2.59-meters (8-6) which placed her fourth.
- Freshman Anya Vanasdale turned in a time of 5:51.32 in the mile to finish ninth in her first career attempt at the event. She then placed second in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:27.40 to close out her day.
- Hanna Bauer recorded a jump of 4.38-meters (14-4 ½), good enough for third in the long jump to open her day, then took to the track for the 400-meter dash, finishing fourth, clocking a time of 1:08.57. In her last event, Bauer took seventh place in the 200-meter dash, logging a time of 30.32.
- Kaya Milby also competed in the long jump, jumping 4.13-meters (13-6 ¾) to grab fifth place before competing in the 55-meter dash and finishing sixth with a time of 8.55.
Next week, Capital will host the sprint and jump events as part of the OAC Elite Meet on February 14 as the distance and throw events take place at Otterbein.
