- Turnovers and fouls plagued both teams to start the second, but the Crusaders started to settle in around the eight minute mark going on an 8-0 run to build an 11 point lead at 20-9.
- Two shots from Erika Linder and one from Cyphers maintained that 11 point lead for multiple minutes before Ohio Northern made a few late shots to cut the lead to six at the half, 27-21.
- To start the second half, Capital maintained their momentum in the opening minutes, building their lead back up to double figures on a made free throw by Cyphers to make the score 34-24.
- Ohio Northern responded however with a 14-0 run that included three three-point shots to grab the lead and go up by four with 2:40 to play in the quarter.
- Two three-pointers from Allison Roach got the score back to 40-all but two late shots from the Polar Bears took the advantage going into the fourth quarter, 45-41.
