COLUMBUS, Ohio -- On Sunday morning, the Capital University men's tennis team picked up their second 9-0 win of the weekend and of the season, this time over Miami-Middletown.
Leading the lines in Sunday's win was Capital's
Alex Stout. Between his two matches this season, Stout went 4-0 (2-0 in doubles and 2-0 in singles), while only dropping one game in singles play. Against Miami-Middletown, Stout paired with
Leonardo Abreu in doubles and defeated Dalton Campbell and Hunter Hall by an 8-3 margin. At second singles, Stout defeated Hall in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. One might say, Alex had a "Stout" performance this weekend.
In addition to his doubles win alongside Stout, Abreu took first singles over Campbell with scores of 6-0 and 6-1.
Playing second doubles together,
Allan Huang and
Jack Schwarz defeated the pairing of Collin Holmes and Vishnu Vengola by a score of 8-1.
At third singles,
Spencer Surles took care of Holmes by a scoreline of 6-0 and 6-1. Rounding out play at fourth singles,
Colin Welch defeated Vengola by scores of 6-0 and 6-0.
Jesse Stevens and
Aaron Askew each won their singles match and doubles match by default.
Capital will return to the court in February as they begin their spring schedule with a trip to Lourdes University in Northwest, Ohio.
