COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital Volleyball welcomed Heidelberg University to The Capital Center on Wednesday night in search of its first conference win. The Student Princes, who landed just outside of the AVCA Top-25 Coaches' Poll, denied the Crusaders of that win after defeating CU, 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-14) behind a combination of strong offense and net defense.

AT THE NET
- Heidelberg did not make many mistakes throughout the course of the game, as seen by their .308 hit percentage that included just nine errors over three sets.
- Amy Feczer led the Berg with nine kills and hit .400 on 15 attempts.
- Two others joined her in hitting .300 or better with one more Heidelberg player hitting just under that mark.
Capital's offense was unable to get into a rhythm due to Heidelberg's strong presence on net defense.
- The Student Princes recorded 12 total blocks, two of those solo.
- Feczer also led in that category after tallying five block assists and one solo block.
- Olivia Cristian supported that effort with four block assists and one solo block.
- Jordann Gudorf led the team in block assists with six.
ON THE OTHER SIDE
- Capital hit just .058 on its offensive end, tallying 24 errors and 30 kills on 104 total attack attempts.
- Junior Delanie Nahikian led the Crusaders with eight kills.
- Senior Kirsten Jutte and junior Leighann Osborne both had seven kills each. Osborne hit her mark on just 14 attempts, lending her to a team-high .357 hit percentage.
- Sophomores Miranda Jordan and Erin O'Connell shared the team lead with 11 digs, each.
- Capital posted just three total blocks, all coming from different players.

Capital's next three games will be away from The Capital Center. They will play in a tri-match first against conference foe John Carroll University at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 12. They will return to the court at 2 p.m. to play the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford at the DeCarlo Varsity Center in University Heights, Ohio.
