Capital University

Mike Sage is serving his first year as a volunteer assistant coach for Capital in 2025.

Sage comes to Capital after a 20-year career as the Gahanna Lincoln Boys Volleyball head coach and 4 years as an assistant before becoming the head coach, along with being an assistant Girls coach at Liberty Union High School for the past 14 years. Sage also has coached at A2-East volleyball club and Velocity Volleyball Club. 

In addition to coaching, Sage is starting his 28th of teaching with Columbus City Schools, where he is an 8th grade Math teacher. 

Sage has been married to his wife Jenni, for 25 years, were they originally met on the volleyball court at Ohio Dominican College. They are the proud parents of Mikayla and Jacob.
