Dr. Michael Jonesco is board certified in Internal Medicine and joined the OSU Sports Medicine team in 2010. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and Sports Medicine. His primary interests include the diagnosis and management of all sports or activity-related injuries, including arthritis and concussion. He is trained in a wide range of traditional treatment modalities, as well as joint and soft tissue injections, concussion management and osteopathic manipulation.


Dr. Jonesco is an Ohio native, born in Columbus and raised in Oberlin. He is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated magna cum laude. At Ohio Wesleyan he earned Academic All-American honors as quarterback and captain of the Battling Bishop football team. He received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. It was during his internal medicine residency at Indiana University where his passion for sports medicine was first sparked. From Indiana University, he secured and completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. At the Cleveland Clinic he worked with the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Cavaliers as well as the Bedford High School and John Carroll University athletic programs.
 

Dr. Jonesco is a member of the American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.Â
