BIOGRAPHY
In July of 2021, Sports Information Director, Nick Astalos, welcomed the addition of Brendan Eagan as his assistant, filling the role of Capital University's Assistant Sports Information Director. The 2023-24 academic year will be his third at Capital.
During his first year at Capital, Eagan has established himself as an important member of the sports information staff, assisting with the communications and marketing of all 18 programs as well as the athletic department as a whole. Eagan assists heavily with managing the Athletics website, covering the various home athletics contests, and leading the Capital Athletics social media presence. He also serves as the primary graphic design contact for the department, while overseeing the graphic production of each program at Capital.Â
In addition to his responsibilities at Capital, Eagan regularly assists nearby Division I programs Ohio State and Ohio with stats inputting for several different sports.Â
Eagan graduated from The Ohio State University in December of 2022 with a Bachelors of Education in Sport Industry and a focus in Communication Technology.Â
"I'm excited to welcome Brendan to the team this year," said Astalos. "Brendan brings a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a creative mindset that will prove to be extremely valuable for our department."
"I am very thankful to Nick for his confidence in bringing me onboard for the upcoming athletics season," said Eagan. "I am excited to begin my career in sports at an institution with the reputation and tradition that Capital has. I am looking forward to the opportunity to provide a helping hand as well as gain experience in this field."
Prior to his start at Capital, Eagan completed a summer internship with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. With CRPD, he helped to oversee, organize, and maintain Berliner Sports Park, the nation's largest baseball/softball complex with 31 fields.
Eagan is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, attended St. Xavier High School, and was a member of the Bombers' 2016, 2017, and 2018 OHSAA Division I State Champion swimming teams. He currently resides in Hilliard, Ohio with his wife Caroline.
