CONCHECK AT CAPITAL
In November 2024, Capital University Director of Athletics Dr. Darrell Bailey, Sr. announced Kara Concheck as the second head coach of the Capital women's lacrosse program. The 2025 season will be her first with the Comets.
"We are excited to welcome in the next era of Comet women's lacrosse under the leadership of head coach Kara Concheck," said Dr. Bailey. "We appreciated hearing about her passion and vision for our women's lacrosse program. Â Our search committee was impressed by Coach Concheck and her ability to express her willingness to create a positive culture and plan to build a roster and program that can continually compete at the highest level here at Capital. Â We are so pleased to welcome Kara and her family back home to Columbus."
"I'd like to thank Dr. Bailey for this incredible opportunity to lead the Capital women's lacrosse program," said Concheck. "As a native of Columbus, Ohio my family and I could not be happier to root down within our home state. Capital is a place that values a commitment to developing young future leaders for life, on and off the field, which perfectly aligns with my purpose as a coach. The Department of Athletics has a clear mission, vision, and drive to succeed while putting their student-athletes first. I'm eager to make an impact and further enhance this program while cultivating the person-centered approach I believe in."Â
