Champ Page begins his first season as the Assistant Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at Capital in the 2024-25 season. He will primarily work with the sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers while assisting in other areas of the program as well.Â
Page comes to Capital after a very successful athletic career and coaching career thus far. As a coach, Page spent the 2023-24 seasons as the Associate Head Coach at Howard Community College. There, he helped coach the men's team to win the 2024 Region 20 Team Championship and the women's program to a runner-up finish that same season. He also coached two NJCAA Second Team All-Americans and seven Regional Champions.Â
Also while at HCC, Page worked as an Assistant Manager of Recreation and Fitness and Athletic Operations. In this role, he oversaw maintenance of the school's facilities, worked in game operations, coordinated fitness promotion events on campus, and managed the equipment operations.Â
Prior to working with Howard C.C., Page was a Physical Education Teach with United Schools Network here in Columbus, Ohio.Â
No stranger to central Ohio, Page competed as a student-athlete at Ohio State University where he excelled immensely. While competing for the Buckeyes, Page was a four-time Big Ten Champion, four-time First Team All-American, a four-time U.S. National Qualifier and a one-time U.S. National Finalist.Â
A standout high school student-athlete as well, Page competed at Wise High School where he was a nine-time State Champion, a four-time High School All-American, and a Maryland State Record Holder.Â
A native of Prince George's County, Maryland, Page holds a degree from Ohio State in 2017 and is also certified with U.S. Level 1 and Level 2 Sprints, Hurdles and Relays certifications.Â
