Chadd Pierce is beginning his first season with Capital University track and field this 2022-2023 indoor season.  He will work directly with the vertical jumps group (pole vault and high jump), as well as the multi-event athletes (pentathlon, heptathlon, decathlon).

Prior to his time at Capital University, Pierce started his own track and field club, CP Athletics, in the summer of 2016.  With a focus on the pole vault group, he has been assisting high school vaulters get to the next level for six years.  He also doubled as the Grove City High School jumps and distance coach starting in 2014, where he coached four school record holders including having the girls pole vault record broken twice since his arrival.

Pierce graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Communication and a concentration in media production in the spring of 2013.  While at UNC, he was a scholarship athlete on the track and field team competing in the multi event group (decathlon/heptathlon) and the pole vault.  While competing, Pierce was a two-year captain, four-time Academic All-ACC and earned All ACC honors his senior year in the heptathlon placing 3rd at the championship meet.  He still is ranked 8th all-time in UNC history for his heptathlon personal best, and is in the top-15 in the pole vault as well.
