Mac Milligan will start his first season at Capital in the 2021-22 academic year. Milligan re-joins Capital head coach BT Pham after previously serving as his top assistant at William Peace University in North Carolina.

Milligan comes to Capital with three seasons of assistant coaching experience under his belt -- one at William Peace and two at Ottawa University in Kansas -- in addition to holding his USA Track and Field Level 1 Coaching Certificate. While at Ottawa, Milligan helped coach four individuals to the NAIA National Championships in cross country and helped the team finish third at the KCAC Conference Championships -- the program's best finish in 10 years. Off the course, he was in charge of managing a recruiting pipeline of more than 100 potential student-athletes, managed the team's social channels, and launched a YouTube channel for the team.

At William Peace, Milligan led the cross country team to a second place finish at the 2021 conference championship, their highest finish in program history. In addition, Milligan ws in charge of coaching the middle and long distance athletes in track, where he aided his athletes to breaking school records in the men's 1500m and 5000m runs, the men's 3000m steeplechase, and the women's 800m run. Away from competition, Milligan managed recruiting efforts and garnered 21 total deposits for the upcoming academic year. Additionally, Milligan oversaw all social media accounts and increased content interaction and exposure for the program.

Aside from coaching, Milligan has worked as an event operations intern with Yellow Jacket Racing and currently works as a FIT Specialist at Fleet Feet Sports.

As a student-athlete, Milligan graduated from St. John Fisher in 2018 with a degree in sport management. While there, he was named All-Region, was a two-time conference champion in track, holds numerous school records, and was named the 2016 team MVP. During that 2018 season, Milligan won the Spire Division III Elite 3000m race, featuring some of the top 3K runners in all of Division III.

Milligan, who is a native of Buffalo, N.Y., also holds a Masters of Business Administration in Leadership Development from Ottawa University Kansas.Â
