Kyle Walker will enter his third season as assistant track & field coach at Capital University in Fall 2018.
In 2017, Taylor Manivanh was named All-Great Lakes Region in the 60-meter dash by the USTFCCCA and Manivanh placed second in the event at the OAC Indoor Championships. Hunter Mouser placed third in the conference in the 400-meter dash and Niamani Mayes placed third in the conference in the 60-meter hurdles.
In his first season, Walker was alongside Logan Allison as he set the school record in the 60-meter dash (6.95) with a mark that would later grant him all-region accolades. Trevor Collins went on to claim all-conference honors in his first OAC championship, finishing third in the 200-meter dash in 2017 OAC Indoor Championships.
Walker brings with him a wealth of NCAA Division I experience as a four-year letterman and hurdles specialist at the University of Akron. As a student-athlete, Walker was a qualifier and a finalist in the 2016 Indoor USA Track & Field Championship in the 60-meter hurdles.
Walker became a Second Team All-MAC selection for the first time as a sophomore as the anchor of the 4x400 relay team that competed at the 2013 Outdoor MAC Championships. He achieved that feat again in the 60-meter hurdles during the 2015 MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. Earlier that same season, he posted the second-fastest 60 hurdles time (7.91) in program history. He was selected as a team captain for the 2013-14 season.
Walker is a 2016 graduate of Akron with an international business bachelor of business administration (B.B.A.) with minors in Spanish and entrepreneurship.
