Lilu Smith enters her first season as an Assistant Women's Bowling Coach at Capital University in 2025-26.
Smith joins the Comets straight after completing a four-year playing career at Valparaiso University where she graduated with a degree in Computer Science this past May. As a collegiate Division I bowler, Smith shot a career scoring average of 192.2, which ranks second best in program history. Additionally, she holds the third best single-season scoring average of 199.0 this past season. She was a four-time All-Tournament Team bowler during her tenure. She was a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree and also earned multiple academic and bowling recognitions from Valparaiso, the Conference USA, the Missouri Valley Conference, and the Southland Bowling League throughout her career. As a student-athlete, Smith was a member of Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Smith has quickly risen up the coaching certifications as she holds both a Bronze and Silver USBC Coaching Certification.
Currently, Smith works as a Digital Transformation Engineer at THK Manufacturing in Hebron, Ohio.
