With the ongoing COVID-19 situation evolving daily, it is important to know that policies and procedures have been established and updated in order to provide Capital University students, athletes, faculty, and staff a safe and complete experience. Serving as Capital's main athletics building The Capital Center must adhere to additional guidelines and policies instituted by the NCAA, regardless of who uses the facility. Please review the policies, guidelines and procedures below that impact the use of The Capital Center for all its guests. Click the link below to be directed to the section(s) that apply to you.

GENERAL INFORMATION
- Community, alumni and non-athletic/academic use of the facility is unavailable until further notice.
Â
- The main entrance (East Mount Street side) will serve as the only entry and exit points for The Capital Center. Entry into the building will be available via card access, only. Please adhere to all posted instructional signage.
Â
- For any non-team related workouts, please go to the Mezzanine (The Mezz) in the Student Union.
Â
- All guests are required to use masks or approved face coverings while inside The Capital Center.
Â
- All guests will be asked to observe proper social distancing guidelines while inside The Capital Center (12 feet while working out, 6 feet in general). Â
Â
- If you are experiencing symptoms of illness please reschedule your visit or refrain from entering the facility. Symptoms include:
- Body temperature lower than 100.4Â degrees (F)Â
- Dry cough
- Shortness of breath
- Headaches
- Body aches
- Chills
- Loss of taste or smell
- Fatigue
- Nasal congestion (not related to allergies)
- Diarrhea
- Gastrointestinal discomfort/symptoms
Â
- All guests of The Capital Center are subject to temperature checks administered by an approved Capital staff member. Your temperature must be lower than 100.4Â degrees (F)Â in order to gain access to the building. Temperature checks will be conducted each time an individual enters the facility.
Â
- Please observe all directional signage located throughout the building.
Â
- Hand sanitizing stations will be provided at various locations inside the building.
Â
- Under the jurisdiction of The Clearly Act, we ask that all guests, students, faculty, and staff please do not prop any doors or allow any unfamiliar, unauthorized or unknown parties into the building.

- Once classes are in session, no outside events or organizations will be permitted to use the facilities.

ATHLETIC EVENT / SPECTATOR INFORMATION
- Beginning March 8, 2021, the Ohio Athletic Conference and its member institutions will begin allowing a limited number of spectators attend athletic events.
Â
- Each team may produce a pass list in which dressed participants and coaches are permitted to submit two (2) names for entry into the contest. Other than the above pass lists, there shall be no spectators allowed at events, including additional family members, fans, staff, and/or students.

- Cheerleaders may participate at home events only, per institutional discretion, and also receive two admissions per dressed participant.
Â
- These combined admissions may not exceed 30 percent of spectator area capacity.
Â
- All submitted names must be able to present a valid ID upon entry. Children accompanied by an adult with a photo ID are permitted and count toward the individual and team pass list total.
Â
- Fans are asked to refrain from congregating in groups before, during and after contests.
Tailgating will not be permitted for home or visiting fans on event or campus grounds, before, during or after contests.

I AM A STUDENT (general student, student-athlete, ROTC, etc.) ...
- The Capital Center facilities will not be available for general student, staff, faculty, or community use until further notice.
Â
- All students MUST have their active Capital Student ID in order to access the building.
Â
- All students, regardless reason for access, will be subject to temperature checks and all building guidelines prior to entry.
Â
- All approved use of the facility (weight room, cardio area, track, etc.) will be available only at scheduled times.
Â
- Any student-athlete personal workouts should be scheduled through your designated strength and conditioning coach.
Â
- ROTC and general students may use the areas of the building they are assigned to during their designated course time, only.
Â
- Please do not congregate in areas outside of your designated class space and maintain your social distance.Â
Â
- Moe Lounge will be available for commuter student use, only. All other students are encouraged to use alternative campus gathering areas for academic or social use.Â
Â

I AM A STAFF MEMBER (coach, faculty, other staff) ...
- Capital University staff may have access to The Capital Center for University business or class use, only.Â
Â
- All staff MUST have their active Capital Student ID in order to access the building.
Â
- Only approved events may be held in The Capital Center. A master schedule of events will be made available in the facility. Please contact Capital Conference Services to request access for your event.Â
Â
- Faculty and staff are required to go through temperature checks and will be held to all building regulations per Capital and NCAA guidelines.
Â
- All meetings between staff and student-athletes or other individuals should be done virtually. No in-person meetings are permitted.Â
Â
- All assistant and volunteer coaches must be tested three times per week, in order to gain access to the coaches suite.
Â
- If you share an office work space, enter common areas, or are in transit, masks must be worn at all times.Â
Â
- Guest speakers outside of Capital staff or faculty are not permitted.Â
Â
I AM A RECRUIT/PROSPECTIVE STUDENT ...
- Access to The Capital Center will be available by appointment only. Please coordinate your visit with your respective recruitment coordinator or coach and make contact with those parties upon your arrival.
Â
- All recruiting visit parties may not exceed the recruit plus two additional individuals. (not including the coaching/Capital staff) If you have additional guests in your party, those people must wait outside or in an approved area.Â
Â
- Capital Admissions counselors and guests are also bound by the guidelines of The Capital Center.
Â
- Your coach or recruitment coordinator will meet you in The Capital Center Lobby to begin your tour.Â
Â
- Capital Admissions or a staff member can provide a free mask if you do not have one.
Â
- Please avoid congregating in hallways or common areas.
