The freshman guard found her scoring touch in Capital's two games this week, setting new career highs in each game. Her week started with a 20-point effort in a 73-61 win over Wilmington College. Taphorn played 34 minutes off the bench and shot 8-of-12 from the field. A few days later she one-upped herself, scoring 21 points in Capital's overtime loss to John Carroll. Tap horn shot 7-of-15 from the floor in that game and with four seconds left in regulation, she calmly converted a layup that would have gave Capital the win if not for JCU's game-tying bucket with only one second left. Taphorn also recorded three steals in each of the two games this week.
