CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Capital University cross country teams were in action on Friday evening, competing at the All-Ohio Championships on the campus of Cedarville University.
There, both teams had quality performances with
Lillith Dreibelbis and
Ryin Fisher each cracking the program top-20 list in their efforts.
In team standings, the men placed 11th and the women were 17th, both out of two dozen teams.
MEN
As a team, Capital took 11th out of 24 teams. The field featured many teams from all three NCAA divisions as well as NAIA and community college programs. In total, 420 men raced in the 8K race. Walsh claimed the team title.
Kolin Brake led the Comets with a 58th place finish, clocking in a time of 26:39.30.
Ryin Fisher was not far behind, placing 61st in a time of 26:41.90. The time was good enough to set Fisher 19th all-time in Capital history.
Mikey Arnone was next to finish for Cap, placing 81st in 27:05.30.
Justin Rona followed in 115th place with a time of 27:23.40.
Owen Bottar was next, taking 150th in 27:45.30.
Aidan Fisher wasn't far behind, taking 159th in 27:50.30.
Braydon Nix rounded out the team scoring, finishing 181st in 28:07.40.
Also racing for the Comet men were
Ridwan Aliawl who took 200th (28:21.50),
Aiden Mahony who placed 217th (28:30.60),
Jordan Hull who took 247th (29:04.80),
Dimetrius Floyd who placed 279th (29:42.40),
Hayden Quinif who took 282nd (29:44.50),
Aaron McNutt who placed 337th in 31:10.10 and
Logan Belanger who placed 340th in 31:20.40.
WOMEN
As a team, the Comets placed 17th out of 24 teams. The field consisted of competition from all three NCAA divisions as well as NAIA and community college programs. In total, 324 women competed in the 6K race. Cincinnati won the team title.
Lillith Dreibelbis was the top finisher for the Comets, taking 63rd overall in a time of 24:07.70. The time was good to move her up two spots into 15th all-time at Capital.
Lily Carpico was next for the Comets as she finished 128th overall in a time of 25:07.80.
Laney Tarr led a tight group of four Comets to finish as she took 158th in 25:49.60. Close behind Tarr were
Hollyn Reed in 162nd (25:52.90),
Sara Kottmyer in 167th (25:59.00), and
Alex Wilkinson in 171st (26:05.10).
Shelby Janes rounded out the scoring for Cap with a finish in 177th place (26:13.60).
Also racing for the women were
Olivia Ellis in 199th (26:45.90),
Camryn Baker in 211th (27:15.20),
Catherine Schaub in 225th (27:43.50), and
Hadley Fullen in 230th (28:11.90).
UP NEXT
Capital will be back in action on October 2nd with a split squad day as a portion of the team will compete at Lehigh's Paul Short Run and the other portion of the team will run at the OWU Invitational.
