EAST LANSING, Mich. — The Capital University cross country teams competed Friday morning at the Michigan State Spartan Invitational in East Lansing.

MEN
Kolin Brake once again led the Comets, placing 73rd in the men's 8K with a time of (26:25.60). Mikey Arnone followed in 93rd at (26:42.20), while Ryin Fisher placed 99th with a time of (26:48.90).

Justin Rona finished 147th in (27:32.20), followed by Owen Bottar in 162nd at (27:41.30). Ridwan Aliawl placed 172nd with a time of (27:51.50), while Aidan Fisher finished 177th in (27:55.50).

Ean Berberich crossed the finish line in (28:06.50), placing 191st, while Aiden Mohony finished 198th in (28:11.10). Braydon Nix and Hayden Quinif rounded out the Comets' competitors with times of (29:09.00) and (29:42.00), respectively.

WOMEN
In the women's 6K, freshman Lily Carpico led the Comets with a time of (24:17.40), placing 160th overall at the meet. Her performance also moved her into Capital University's women's cross country top-20 records for the 6K, ranking 16th all-time.

Laney Tarr followed closely behind, finishing 164th with a time of (24:24.90). Lillith Dreibelbis rounded out the Comets' top three, finishing 173rd in (24:35.20) and moving into 18th on the program's top-20 6K list.

Shelby Janes finished 193rd in (25:12.00), followed by Hollyn Reed in 208th at (25:56.90). Olivia Ellis finished one second behind Reed, placing 209th with a time of (25:57.40).

Alex Wilkinson placed 210th in (26:01.50), while Camryn Baker finished 215th in (26:14.90). Sara Kottmyer followed in 221st at (26:26.60). Hadley Fullen rounded out the Comets' competitors, finishing 236th in (27:03.40).

As a team, Capital finished 18^th with 562 points.

Capital will return to competition next Friday, Sept. 18, at the All-Ohio Championships at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio.
