Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Falls to No. 1 Denison

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University men's soccer team welcomed No. 1 nationally ranked Denison to Bernlohr Stadium on Saturday night where they were defeated by a final score of 3-0.

Capital is now 1-5-1 overall, while Denison is 8-0-1 on the season.

The Comets hung tough throughout the first half hour of the game maintaining their fair share of possession and keeping the Big Red at bay.

Unfortunately, in the 32nd minute, Denison scored from outside the box to make it 1-0 setting the game squarely in their favor as they would double their lead in the 36th minute of play.

At the half, the score remained 2-0 to Denison with Capital still within striking distance.

Into the second half, Capital began to get more looks forward, but so did the Big Red as they would eventually tack on a third in the 78th minute to seal the deal.

The Comets' only shot on goal in the game came with just under two minutes left off the foot of Harper Gillen, but his shot was saved.

Ethan Ogden recorded six saves in the game, including five in the first half.
