LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Capital University men's soccer team traveled to Kentucky on Saturday afternoon to do battle with Transylvania University. There, the Comets conceded three second half goals enroute to a 3-1 loss, their third of the season.
Capital (1-3) did go in front with a goal in the 23rd minute from
Tony Epstein – his first goal of the season. With their noses in front, Capital carried the 1-0 lead into the break.
The intermission flipped the script of the game as Transy (3-2-1) scored a goal in just the 47th minute of play, to tie things up. Then, the Pioneers kept up the pressure, taking eight shots in the second half.
That pressure eventually paid off as the hosts netted twice in the 77th minute and the 83rd minute to emerge with a 3-1 result.
In the end,
Noah Thomas made four saves in net for Capital, while Epstein (2) and
Carter Musgrove were the Comets to take shots in the game.
