WESTERVILLE, Ohio – On Monday evening, the Ohio Athletic Conference held the 2025 edition of the annual Clyde Lamb Award banquet, honoring one male and one female senior student-athlete from each of the 10 member institutions. Selected to represent Capital University were Grace Osborn and Max Schillig.

To be chosen for the Clyde Lamb Award, student-athletes must have participated in an OAC-sponsored sport for at least two years, maintain senior status, hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00, and conduct themselves in a manner that brings credit to the student-athlete and the institution.

The Clyde Lamb Award was founded in 1985 and is named in honor of Clyde A. Lamb. Lamb organized the department of health and physical education at Ohio Northern in 1929 and served as a coach, department chairman and athletics director for ONU for nearly 40 years.

Osborn, a senior from Pickerington, was selected as the Capital female recipient as a member of the women's lacrosse and cross country teams. As a student-athlete at Capital, Osborn has been a multi-time All-American, All-Region, All-OAC, and National Player of the Week honoree for lacrosse, and has also laid claim to four NCAA records and a multitude of program records. This year, Osborn also joined the women's cross country team, earning All-OAC recognition and setting the program's fourth-best time in the 6K at 22:42.40. She has also gotten it done in the classroom, earning multiple Academic All-Conference and Academic All-District honors.

Osborn is the fourth Capital women's lacrosse player to receive this award since its inception in 1985.

Schillig, also a senior from Pickerington, was selected as the Capital male recipient as a member of the men's lacrosse team. As a student-athlete at Capital, Schillig has been a leader on and off the field, most notably serving as a team captain and being a constant presence in midfield for the Comets. He has also earned multiple academic awards in the classroom in addition to many extracurriculars including co-founding and serving as head coach of the 256 Lacrosse Club in Pickerington, working as a law clerk at Rouette Law in Gahanna, as well as volunteering with those to help those in the criminal justice system.

Schillig is the first men's lacrosse player from Capital to receive this award.
