GAMBIER, Ohio - Looking for their sixth straight win to begin the season, the Capital University women's basketball team was back in action on Monday, Dec. 1 to take on Kenyon College in a non-conference match-up. Capital would benefit from some red-hot three point shooting in the first half, cruising to the 70-55 victory. With the win, the Comets now stand at 6-0 entering conference play. Meanwhile, the Owls see their record fall to 3-4.
The Comets were knocking them down early from beyond the arc, finishing the first half of play shooting 8-17. These eight baskets from deep would allow Capital to take a 44-21 lead into the break. Leading this attack would be
Kendall Spreen, who would finish with 15 points on 5-9 shooting from three. The junior would also add four rebounds, two steals, and an assist to finish her night.
Capital would see their scoring slow in the second half of play, but would remain stout on defense to keep the game well out of reach for Kenyon.
Tahirah Ellis was a force all game long, tallying a team high three steals to go along with a block. In total, the Comets would force 16 turnovers from the Owls.
Once again surpassing the 20 point mark was
Samaree Perkins, going a very efficient 9-13 from the field to finish with 26 points. The senior would go 3-5 from three and 5-6 from the charity stripe.
Kya Jordan continues to orchestrate the offense, recording a team high four assists. Jordan leads the team with 22 assists so far this season.

The Comets now turn their attention to conference play, getting Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play started with a road match-up against Muskingum University on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The game will tip-off at 7 PM.
