WESTERVILLE, Ohio – On Monday afternoon, Capital University senior men's soccer players
Derrick Harris and
Ethan Ogden swept the Ohio Athletic Conference's Player of the Week honors for their sport. Harris was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Ogden was honored with his second consecutive Defensive Player of the Week award.
This is Harris' first career weekly honor, while Ogden's is the second this season and third of his career. The two selections this week make it 10 weekly honors for the athletics department in the 2025-26 calendar year.
Harris was named the offensive winner this week after scoring four of Capital's six goals in a 1-0-1 week for the program. Harris netted twice in a 4-2 win over Marietta and then scored both goals in a 2-2 draw on the road at No. 22 ranked Ohio Northern.
Ogden earned the award after a week that saw him make 13 saves, which included a career-best nine saves at No. 22 ranked Ohio Northern to preserve the draw. In the home win over Marietta, Ogden made four stops, which included an outstanding back-to-back double save on an early penalty kick by the Pioneers, keeping the score tied before an eventual Comet win.
Capital men's soccer will look to keep their good start to OAC play going on Wednesday, October 22nd as they travel to Wilmington College for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
