MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Competing on the track that will host the 2024 Outdoor National Championships later this year, the Capital University track and field program competed amongst strong competition enroute to a solid opening performance for the 2024 outdoor season.

MEN
100m Dash: Chiek Souare (11.35s),
Daniel Hiser (11.40s),
Ben Char (11.42s), and
Stevan Stewart (11.57s) all competed for Cap.
110m Hurdles:
Kaden Lowe timed 16.23 seconds in the prelims before running 16.47 in the semis.
Kelly Wilson II ran 15.93 seconds in the semis.
200m Dash:
Daniel Hiser (23.07s) and Chiek Souare (23.27s) ran the 200-meter dash.
400m Hurdles:
Kaden Lowe ran a PR in the event with a time of 56.78 seconds, which narrowly improves his hold on the 9th best time in program history.
Kelly Wilson II ran a time of 1:03.87.
800m Run:
Donovan Slattery clocked in a time of 2:04.53.
Aiden Mahony ran 2:09.56 in his heat.
One Mile:
Mikey Arnone ran 4:39.74 while
Joseph Countryman clocked 4:41.76 in the four lap race.
3,000m Run:
Nick Stuck ran a time of 9:58.41 in the 3K.
3,000m Steeplechase:
Donovan Slattery paced the squad with a time of 9:59.22, while
Aiden Mahony ran 10:47.65. Mahony's time slides him into 9th all-time in program history in the event.
5,000m Run:
Zach Glotzbecker paced a group of three Comets as he clocked in a time of 15:58.70 which marked his first sub-16 minute time.
Aaron McNutt ran 16:59.80 while
Andrew Rouser clocked 18:17.23.
10,000m Run: Glotzbecker did the lengthy double on the week, as he clocked in 33:28.18 in the 10K, a time that sits him 4th all-time in Cap history.
Discus Throw:
Nolan Piper launched the discus 36.11 meters. He was followed by
Drew Click (34.95m),
Waylon Yeager (32.37m) and
Marvin Jean-Denis (25.60m).
Hammer Throw:
Nolan Piper was the lone Hammer Throw competitor for Cap and his heave of 41.83 meters placed him 5th all-time in the event at Capital.
Javelin:
Jason McColl launched the jav 42.25 meters.
Long Jump:
Dylan Dowell leaped 6.64 meters and was followed by
Justin Mathews (5.98m) and
Zion Park (5.82m).
Pole Vault:
Zion Park opened the outdoor season with a vault of 4.56 meters.
Shot Put:
Nolan Piper led the Comets with a toss of 13.17 meters. He was followed by
Waylon Yeager (12.36m),
Marvin Jean-Denis (12.28m) and
Drew Click (9.26m).
4x100m Relay:
Dylan Dowell,
Daniel McCormack,
Ishmael Young, and
Daniel Hiser finished in 42.65 seconds.
4x200m Relay: McCormack,
Ben Char, Young and Dowell ran a time of 1:29.69.
4x400m Relay: Dowel, McCormack, Char and Young clocked in at 3:26.65.
4x800m Relay:
Mikey Arnone,
Joseph Countryman,
Nick Stuck and
Kolin Brake ran the 4th best 4x8 relay in school history, clocking a time of 8:19.57.
WOMEN
100m Dash:
Allie Mongold (13.36s),
Hanna Bauer (13.49s),
Claire Larger (13.54s),
Isabel Pina (13.84s) and
Erniesha Guerrier (14.25s) all competed for Cap.
100m Hurdles:
Maria Da Cunha ran a time of 16.60 seconds, followed by
Brynne Badgett's 17.67 seconds.
200m Dash:
Allie Mongold (27.63s),
Hanna Bauer (27.91s),
Isabel Pina (28.47s) and
Erniesha Guerrier (29.33s) ran the half lap race for Cap.
400m Hurdles:
Maria Da Cunha clocked a time of 1:06.95 to place sixth overall.
Brynne Badgett ran a time of 1:17.76.
3,000m Run:
Catherine Schaub ran a time of 12:34.97 in the 3K.
5,000m Run:
Elizabeth Mak ran a time of 19:30.47 which is good enough to place her 9th all-time in Capital history in the event.
Olivia Ellis ran 21:18.42.
Discus Throw:
Grace Heckenlively paced the group with a toss of 32.13 meters and was followed by
Mia Sanchez (27.52m) and Deivon McCullough (24.68m).
Long Jump:
Claire Larger lept 4.55 meters.
Shot Put:
Grace Heckenlively's toss of 10.16 meters led the group of Comet throwers. She was followed by
Mia Sanchez (9.59m) and Deivon McCullough (9.53m).
Triple Jump:
Claire Larger jumped 10.09 meters in the triple jump.
4x400m Relay: The quartet of
