COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team returned to their home court at Whetstone Park of Roses on Friday afternoon to host Franklin College. There, the Comets comfortably defeated the Grizzlies in a clean sweep, 9-0.
Capital concludes the fall portion of their schedule with a 2-2 record and will get back on the court this spring.
In doubles action, the Comets took all three points to get ahead early.
Anna Fletcher and
Nicole Flock paired up at the top spot to win 8-5.
Annika Hansen and
Rachel Smith paired in the second spot to win 8-3.
Amy Wright-Lovell and Adeline Hennesy teamed up to win the third spot 8-2.
In singles play, Capital again eased their way to claiming all the points. Fletcher won #1 singles 7-5, 6-1. Flock took the second spot 6-3, 6-2. Hansen won third singles in a sweep: 6-0, 6-0. Smith won fourth singles 6-2, 6-1.
Kylee Fliter won fifth 6-2, 6-1.
Ashlyn Edwards rounded it out with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the sixth spot.

Capital will await their spring schedule release over the winter months with the spring portion getting started in either late February or early March.
