- Cameron Finnegan then hit the post on a shot on the Cardinals' next possession, but over the next two minutes the scoreboard stayed still
- Otterbein's Macey Buchanan was hit with a yellow card as the clock dipped under one minute, allowing Capital to end regulation with an extra player on the field.
- Brooke Delara's free-position shot was saved by McNutt but Cap recovered and put the ball into its play maker's hands. Walton then received a pass from Stover and sent in the game-winning shot with her fourth goal of the day, this coming with just 17 seconds to go in regulation.
- Out of an Otterbein timeout, the hosts controlled the draw but then turned the ball over, ending the game.
