Waynesburg's Victor Browne nearly tied the match in the 22nd minute but tagged the crossbar to keep the advantage in Capital's court.

In quick succession, Capital scored twice more in the 21st and 25th minutes of the first half. Sophomore Josh McDaniel (Cincinnati, Ohio) connected with junior Alexander Basiakos (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard  Darby) to double up the score, 2-0.

Basiakos again entered the score column four minutes later when off of a corner kick, he and junior Curtis Baker (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Westerville Central) drove home the Crusaders' third goal of the match, giving them a commanding lead.

Junior Cheyn Roux (Davidson, N.C.) added Capital's fourth and final goal of the game. For Basiakos and Roux, their respective goals were their second scores of the season.

Freshman Daniel Bundschuh (Cincinnati, Ohio) recorded his first two points of his collegiate career, both on assists acquired on Saunders' and Roux's goals.
