NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Capital University men's soccer team edged Muskingum, 1-0, on the road on Tuesday night, improving to 5-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference standings.

In the first half of play, the Crusaders managed to unload an array of shots in the first half, totaling AMT with AMT coming on goal.

Conversely, the Muskies recorded zero shots in the opening frame, as the Crusaders defense halted any thought of an attack by their opposition.

Heading into halftime, neither team was able to find the back of the net, resulting in a scoreless first half.

As the second half got underway, the Crusaders offense continued to pressure the Muskies with multiple shot attempts.

Then, in the 65^th minute, sophomore Hunter Booth broke the scoreless tie with a header into the net, coming off a corner kick from freshman Jacob Pulliam, giving the Crusaders a 1-0 advantage.

From that point forward, the match remained scoreless, as the Crusaders held on, edging Muskingum on the road, 1-0.

With the victory, Capital now moves into a tie, with Mount Union, for third place near the top of the OAC standings.

Both teams have one conference match remaining on Nov. 2.

Leading the way for the Crusaders was Booth, scoring his second goal of the season, and second in as many matches, while Pulliam tallied his second assist on the year.

Senior goalkeeper Bob Weisgarber managed to stop both shots on goal that he faced.

The final regular season game of the season for Capital (8-6-3, 5-3 OAC), will take place against Otterbein on Nov. 2 at Bernlohr Stadium.
